A place to slow down, feel heard, and begin where you are.
Life doesn’t always give us time to process what we’re carrying. Therapy can offer a space to step away from the noise, make sense of what feels difficult, and focus on what you need.
About Me
Hi, I’m Kimberly Sibley, LCSW-C, LICSW, MSW, and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe therapy is more than just talking, it’s a safe, supportive space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need a place to pause, reflect, and work through what feels heavy.
I live in the beautiful mountains of Maryland and am a proud native of West Virginia. I’m married, a mother, and a “Meemaw”, roles that have deeply shaped my life and for which I am truly grateful. My faith is an important foundation in my life and guides the compassion, integrity, and respect I bring into my work. Outside of therapy, I love the outdoors and enjoy spending time in nature, gardening, traveling, and being with my family and animals, all of which help keep me grounded and present with my clients.
Therapy can involve difficult conversations, but I do not believe every session has to feel heavy or clinical. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and actively engaged. I want you to feel comfortable sharing all parts of your life, from the things that are most difficult to the accomplishments, exciting moments, and everyday experiences.
One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is the experience that has taught me that being a good therapist is about much more than knowing therapeutic techniques. It is also about knowing when to listen, when to ask meaningful questions, when to offer another perspective, when to provide guidance, when to gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and when someone simply needs space to process what they are feeling.
My Clients
I enjoy working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I work primarily with clients ages 8 and older, including military personnel, first responders, professionals, nurses, teachers, attorneys, students, parents, individuals, couples, and families.
My ideal client does not have to come to therapy knowing exactly what is wrong, what they need, or even where to begin. You may simply know that something in your life does not feel the way you want it to anymore. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, depressed, or disconnected; stuck in patterns that no longer serve you; struggling in a relationship; adjusting to a major life change; or simply unsure why things feel so heavy right now. Maybe you’ve been holding it together for everyone else, but inside, you’re struggling.
Some of my clients come to therapy during a particularly difficult season, while others have struggled with something for years and finally feel ready to address it. You may have specific goals, or we may figure those out together as we get to know one another. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you have been in therapy before, you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.
I understand that asking for help isn’t always easy. We can start with what feels most important to you and work from there at a pace that feels most comfortable for you.
I also look beyond a diagnosis. A diagnosis may help us understand symptoms, but it does not define you. Most importantly, I want our sessions to feel worthwhile. I hope you leave with greater understanding, a new perspective, a sense of relief, practical ways to move forward, or simply feeling a little less alone. I want you to feel supported and validated while also knowing that we are working toward meaningful change.
I genuinely care about the clients I work with and value the relationships we build. I have had the privilege of working with clients over extended periods of time and supporting them through different seasons, challenges, accomplishments, and changes. I never take for granted the trust someone places in me when sharing the most personal parts of their life.
Wherever you are when we first meet, you are welcome to come as you are, and we will start there. If you’re ready to begin, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted, support is available.
You do not have to go through this alone.

My Biography
For more than 23 years, I have built a diverse and meaningful career in therapy, case management, child welfare, behavioral health, consulting and social work, often balancing both full-time and part-time roles to broaden my experience and continually grow both personally and professionally. Since deciding to pursue a degree in human services in 1997, I have worked in a wide range of professional roles, including Therapist/Psychotherapist, Care Counselor, Children’s Behavioral Health Consultant, Family Services Social Worker, Behavioral Health Case Manager, Educator, Transition Specialist, and Blood Services Director.
I bring 10 years of experience working with the Department of Human Services in child welfare, including providing court testimony, along with providing counseling, case management and consultation services, since 2004 in MD and PA. My experience also includes supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, youth involved in juvenile sex offender programs, and men participating in Abuse Intervention Programs (AIP) through our local Family Crisis Resource Center.
In addition, I have 13 years of experience completing domestic and international adoptive home studies for both the State of Maryland and a private adoption agency in central Maryland. My work in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, as well as in employee assistance programs while at WMHS (now UPMC), has shaped my understanding that healing looks different for everyone and that meaningful change is possible with the right support.
Beyond clinical work, I am also passionate about business and education. I have spent 10 years in retail management and 12 years in small business ownership, as well as a combined 11 years in contracted roles as an Ethnobotany Research Assistant, Substitute Teacher, and Educational Tutor in Math, Reading, English, and ESL. I have had the privilege of teaching domestic and international students ages 4–17 across three companies in the United States and China, leading over 15,000 individual and group classes, to date. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures, students, learning styles, and education.
